Information about La Fontaine.

La Fontaine is set in an enviable position on the edge of the village of Montesquieu des Alberes. The house is surrounded by terraces which overlook a large 3/4 acre garden of mediterranean type flora.

There is a 12metre long swimming pool for exclusive use of the guests. The 1- metre shallow-end is accessed by steps, and the two metre deep-end by a ladder. A pool alarm has been installed but of course small children must still be supervised. Around the pool is an extensive paved area. There are sun beds and a barbeque.

The terraces have superb views to Mount Canigou and the Pyrenees in one direction, and over the Rousillon plain to the beaches of Argeles, Saint Cyprien, and Canet in the other.

The villa has two double bedrooms, one twin, and one single room. All have fitted carpets, wardrobes, bedside tables, and fans.

The main lounge has an open fireplace and electric radiators. There is a TV, a three piece suite, and other easy chairs.

Off the lounge is a sunroom. It has a bar area with cane furniture comprising two bar stools, five easy chairs, and a coffee table. On the other side of the lounge is a dining area.

The kitchen, which is fully equipped with gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and food processor, leads out by double doors to a sheltered all-weather terrace with lighting and a barbeque.

The main bathroom has the benefit of a bath, shower, washbasin, wc, and bidet.

A second shower room also has a washbasin and washing machine.

The hallway has built-in cupboards for coats and shoes. There is an additional closet for domestic cleaning equipment, vacuum cleaner, iron, and ironing board.


The Apartment is below the main part of the house. It is a self-contained unit with its own entrance and terrace. It can accommodate two adults and two children. It has a main living room with sofa, easy chair, TV and DVD player.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with a gas cooker,
fridge,microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. There is a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom, a shower room and a toilet and washbasin. The toilet is accessed from the double bedroom.
